FROM THE VIEW TO THE GLASS
Among the vines, we slow down first. The view, sounds and air invite us to set everyday concerns aside for a moment. Then we head to the cellar and four wines — with time for questions and your own impressions.
Overlooking Izola, we walk slowly, listen to the sounds and notice the light among the vines. Mindfulness here is simple: paying attention to what surrounds us. Your host invites a few quiet moments; take part in your own way. Nothing to achieve — just time to be here, at your own pace.
Our attention moves from the view to the Istrian earth. The Rojac vineyards grow in a flysch landscape, with alternating layers of sandstone and marl. We explore how the soil, warm coastal climate and the winegrower’s work come together in the story of the wine. We then drive to the cellar in Gažon, around 5–10 minutes away; transport arrangements are agreed in advance.
In the cellar, we also meet the story of the people who shaped it. In the 1990s, Bruno Rojac set the family farm on its path as a modern winery; the first bottles under the Šavrin name followed in 1994. Today, his son Uroš leads the winery. Among stainless steel, wood and amphorae, we connect the family story with the choices that shape the wines before us.
Across four wines, we explore aromas, flavours, shifting colours and textures on the palate. What surprises you, and what brings back something familiar? There are no right answers — just your impressions and conversation. We leave a final moment for something you would like to remember: a colour in the glass, a view of the sea, or a story with a face behind it.

Powerful yet lively Refošk, marked by bright acidity and elegance. Rojac connects its character to the lean soils, altitude and vineyards facing the sea. The starting point for our red-wine comparison.

YOUR GROUP. YOUR DATE.
Behind the visit are brothers Uroš and Primož Rojac, each with his own role in the family story shaped by their father Bruno. Uroš leads the winery and makes the wines; through RURALL, Primož opens this story to visitors. One of the brothers welcomes you; we confirm your host when arranging your visit.
Tell us your preferred date, group size and language. Let us know if you need transport. Please discuss alcohol-free participation or access needs with us in advance.
We meet in the vineyard above Izola, then drive to the Rojac cellar at Gažon 63a, 6274 Šmarje. The drive takes around 5–10 minutes; we confirm the location and transport arrangements in advance. The host estimates space for around four cars at each location. Transport can be arranged at an additional agreed price. Wine tasting starts only after arriving at the cellar; please plan a safe journey home too.
The vineyard part depends on the weather. Before your visit, we agree any programme changes or an alternative date rather than leaving you to discover a change on arrival.
Allow around two hours for the programme, with up to another 30 minutes afterwards for relaxed conversation and questions. We agree the final duration and any additional samples when arranging your visit.
The wines are accompanied by our own olive oil, cheese, cured meats and bread. This is our set selection to accompany the tasting; we do not offer special menus or ingredient substitutions. Please contact us before booking for ingredient and allergen information.
Please discuss access needs and alcohol-free participation before booking. We will check what is feasible; full accessibility or an alternative tasting selection is not guaranteed without prior agreement.
Your booking is confirmed in writing once the details of your visit have been agreed. The confirmation includes the date, programme, final price, and payment and cancellation terms. Sending an enquiry alone does not confirm a booking.
